5 Scams to Avoid is an article I needed to write.  I am tired of people getting ripped off.  There are scams to avoid all over the internet but in particular in the area of affiliate marketing.

So you want to learn affiliate marketing strategies and be able to work at home.  You are concerned because of all the scams being run on the internet and you want to know what scams to avoid so that you do not get ripped off.  That is perfectly understandable.  I wish I had known the answers to this question about 18 months ago.

Yes, I got burned, more than once.  When you are desperate you tend to be vulnerable to those promising you what “you want to hear” instead of the truth.

◊ Get Rich Quick Scams to Avoid! (The “Lottery Ticket”)

You will find countless websites that promise to make you rich overnight.  There are sites promising to make you thousands of dollars overnight and hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.  Now take a deep breath and think about it.  Do you really think this is possible?  No, of course it is not.  Buy a lottery ticket!  It is not that easy.

Money can certainly be made in affiliate marketing, big money if successful, but you have a lot to learn and a lot of work to be accomplished first.  If they make promises like this do not get burned, leave their site immediately.

◊ Business in a Box Scams to Avoid! (The “Easy Chair”)

You will also find sites that are going to set you up with your own business right from the start.  It is referred to in the industry as a “Business in a Box”.  You are told you need no knowledge of internet marketing.  They will do all the work for you and you just sit back in your “easy chair” and cash the checks.

So you get big rewards for no work or knowledge?  The only ones who usually get rich on this scam is the scam artist making you the offer!  Again, get the heck out of there before you get burned!

◊ The “Quickie” Tutorial Scams to Avoid! (The “eBook”)

There are thousands of offers out there for eBooks that are produced by “want to be” internet gurus which will be worthless to you.  Many times these eBooks are just a collection of articles, often not even original content but instead PLR content, which are put together in a PDF file and sold promising to teach you all you need to know about internet marketing.

I assure you one or more eBooks, or several quickly filmed videos, will not even scratch the surface of what you need to learn to be a successful affiliate marketer.  Please do not waste your money on these.

◊ Affiliate Marketing Tool Scams to Avoid! (The “Swiss Army Knife”)

You will also find hundreds of affiliate marketing tools being promoted to you saying that they will solve all of your problems and make things easy for you to succeed in internet marketing.  These tools are designed for affiliate marketers who have learned the basics, they are not for beginners!

How can these tools help you if you do not know enough about internet marketing to fully understand their features or benefit from them?  You need to learn to perform all of this manually before looking to automate the work.  Wait until you are ready!

◊ Sign Up Now Or Else Scams to Avoid! (The “Panic”)

Of the 5 scams to avoid this one infuriates me the most.  You go to the offer and they tell you if you do not sign up right away, by (as example) midnight tonight or before XX number of copies are sold, the offer is either going to be totally unavailable or increase dramatically in price.

They are trying to make you panic, make a quick decision.  The tactic works, unfortunately.  You go back the next day and the time frame has been changed, the offer is still there, same price.  Why are they doing this?  Buyer Beware!

No, unfortunately these are just 5 of many scams to avoid when looking into internet marketing opportunities to work at home.  I have not covered the stuffing envelopes, mystery shoppers, taking surveys, etc… scams to avoid.  You may make a few dollars doing this but not what many are promising I assure you.  Something really needs to be done!

I cannot begin to count the number of individuals I have talked to within the industry of Affiliate Marketing that started out by being ripped off not knowing the scams to avoid. So what to believe, where to go to get help, it’s scary.

Many people lose hundreds if not thousands of dollars on these scams to avoid mentioned above and give up never realizing their dreams of success in affiliate marketing could be achieved if they just knew where to get help!
