How to Create an eBook

Product Creation Made Simple

Product Creation – How to Create an eBook

In affiliate marketing marketers know that if they want to make it big one way to do that is through product creation.  Since many of us are not programmers that can create software applications we need to figure out what we can do to “hit it BIG”!  You can easily learn how to create an ebook in order to enter the product creation mainstream.  Do you have a topic you want to write about?

Why you should learn how to create an eBook:

* Create an eBook to give away as a bonus to someone making a purchase
* Create an eBook and give it away to entice someone to opt into you email list
* Create an eBook to establish yourself as an authority in a particular niche
* Sell your product creation to those interested in the topics covered in the ebook
* Distribute them for free with your affiliate links included to generate visitors and sales

You can create an eBook without it costing you a penny.  This form of product creation can be very profitable.

I use a the text editor from the OpenOffice.org Website to create an eBook.  It is an excellent text editor with fantastic features for anyone looking create an eBook.  It is free to download and very simplistic and highly functional.

Page one is going to be your title/cover page so you can create that at the beginning or just leave a blank page 1 and go back and create it later.  Just have it in place for when you decide to create the actual page.

Page two will be your table of contents.  Now if you have a large project in mind it may require more than one page but usually one page is sufficient.  Again, you would want to leave this blank until you write your eBook, for obvious reasons.

Starting page three you will want to begin the actual writing of your eBook.

You will want to include enough information to make it valuable to the person who downloads it, especially if you plan on selling the eBook.  For a quick give-a-way you could probably get away with a thin 10 page eBook but if you want to make an impression with the eBook you need sufficient, relative and useful content.  Try an use some images to liven it up.  Make it easy to read, well spaced, incorporating bulleted text when appropriate.

So writing is not something you enjoy doing?  You can outsource the writing but that can be costly.  You can use PLR articles on a relative topic and either rewrite them or spin them to make them a little unique.  I personally would manually rewrite them.  They will read much better than a spun article and you do want to make a good impression with the eBook or you defeat the purpose of creating it in the first place. You may also find that the affiliate you want to promote offers material you can use in the product creation.  These are just a few ways to create an eBook that you can use for promotions.

You want to make sure you use good anchor text links for your promotions.  Open Office does a great job in allowing you to easily set these up.  Once exported in PDF format these links will be clickable and the URLs will be visible in the browser so you may want to cloak your links.

That is it, you have created the body of text to use for the eBook.  Now you want to do a cover sheet (Page 1) and Table of Contents (Page 2) to finish the product creation.

When you create an eBook in Open Office you will want to save it in PDF format.  Open Office offers you security measures you can use when exporting the eBook to password protect the document.  This will prevent others from trying to pirate your material or change your affiliate links.  You certainly want to use this feature! (Be sure to save that password so you do not forget it!)

Now you may want to have a nice cover to use as an image to promote the eBook.  To hire someone to create a cover is usually quite costly.  Many sites that offer cover creation services are also expensive.  There is a site I recommend that has free services you can take advantage of and create a nice cover image.  This site I am referring to is My eCover Maker.

My eCover Maker has paid and free services.  The free services are certainly good enough for most wanting to create an eBook.  The only time I would suggest using the paid service, which is only $9.00 a month, is if you were going to create an eBook for sale or do this form of product creation on a very large scale.

Now you can create an eBook as a form of product creation and enter a whole new world of internet marketing.  Maybe I will be signing up as an affiliate to sell “Your” new digital product!
